A perennial herb with a distinct anise flavour that is more mild than its French counterpart, Russian Tarragon is a wonderful addition to any culinary garden. This heirloom variety thrives in free-draining soil enriched with plenty of compost, making it ideal for both garden beds and container growing. When planting in pots, invest in quality potting mix—the difference truly shows in your results. To get started, scatter seeds along shallow trench lines and keep the soil consistently moist (but not waterlogged) until germination occurs, which typically takes 3-4 weeks. Space plants 40-50cm apart and sow seeds just at the soil surface, requiring minimal depth. Position your tarragon in a sunny spot where it can flourish throughout the growing season. We source all our seeds locally in small batches to guarantee maximum viability and germination rates, so you can grow with confidence knowing you're starting with premium quality seeds.
